Interior Designer

Luminous Object

Material, Process and Sustainability

Objective: Design, Document, and Fabricate a small Luminous Object, while exploring the relationship between Narrative, Form, Materiality, and Value— from concept to fabrication.

My luminous object was inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns. I chose a double heart shape to represent love and connection. People can always see the heart shape without standing in a specific position. The soft light inside adds warmth and makes the object feel inviting and meaningful.

Nature Beauty

Interior Design | Architecture

Objective: Create a 3D model of an 8’x12’ floor with 4.5” thick 12’ high walls mini salon/barbershop based on Japanese, Modernist, 50’s Scandinavian, California, Boho and Hipster themes.

I deliberately separated the hair washing area and the hair cutting area so that all items would not appear particularly cluttered. Meanwhile, I used wooden style for the entire barber shop. In my perspective, Barber shop should be a place for people to relax and refresh themselves.

Parklet

Interior Design & Architecture

Objective: Design a small Architectural Public Space: a Parklet. Review, apply, and strengthen skills with 3D modelling and 2D drawing tools, both in the design development and communication processes, while exploring design principles and spatial awareness concepts.

My parklet design was inspired by social spaces in schools, such as student union, where people naturally come together. I wanted to create a welcoming area that encourages gathering, conversation, and connection. I used natural elements to make it fit better with the outdoor space and added many seats for people passing by to rest. In addition, I designed it as an open space and added a roof so that people can take shelter inside even if it rains.

Magazine

Communication Design | Typography

Objective: Design a 4-page magazine considering how text and design conveys meaning; employing text hierarchies as a way to navigate; selecting appropriate typeface pairings; creating effective image and text combinations; and creating visual continuity from page to page.

I designed a magazine page about Kobe Bryant, my favorite basketball player. I wanted to share his story, achievements, and legacy with others, so they can learn more about who he was and why he inspired so many people. Through this design, I hope to celebrate his impact both on and off the court.

NatureLux

NatureLux •

NatureLux is a fragrance brand that combines luxury and natural elements. The brand includes products like shampoo, body wash, perfume, and gift cards. My goal was to design something that feels elegant, fresh, and calming.

Objective: Design a brand identity, graphic standards and applications by completing a self-initiated design project to meet professional development goals.

Typographic Book Cover

Communication Design | Typography

Objective: Explore the possibilities of typography and text composition to communicate the main content of a book.

I redesigned two book covers using typography. The distance between us caught my attention because its original cover was very inspiring. I wanted to explore a new way to express its story through design. The second book is You are the Apple of my eye, it is based on one of my favorite love movies. I chose it because of the emotional connection and wanted to capture that feeling through the cover design.
